Meadow House, Addition

This unique Post and Beam house was originally built in 1982 just outside the town center of Concord, MA.  Purchased 15 years ago, by a family with two young daughters, the extensive addition stemmed from the need for a larger kitchen, proper dining area, mudroom and upstairs living and work space for their growing teenagers.  Descriptives established to guide the design and material selections were tranquil, rural, seamless and natural with a genuine sensibility. Inspiration for the interiors were taken from 19th century Belgium and Scandinavian rural homes, infused with a raw but modern American utility.

Materials and finishes were procured from Belgium and Germany and local suppliers, millworkers and builders from surrounding towns.  A breathtaking professional kitchen predominates the first floor flowing into the mudroom, dinning area and existing living room which was originally designed by us. Our developments for the addition were utilized from the inception of this project and included project management, cabinetry and millwork design, lighting and all of the furniture design on the first floor.
